Am in a whimsical mood... went online hunting for fairies and such today... both of these sites offer some pretty cool pictures too.


Ireland’s Wee Little People: The Leprechauns
Early this year a thorough analysis of the skull of a very small extinct humanoid, discovered on the Indonesian island of Flores last year, was released. That study brought to mind the ages-old stories about little Irish solitary creatures that avoid contact with today’s humans: Leprechauns.

Hobbit-Like Human Ancestor Found in Asia

Scientists have found skeletons of a hobbit-like species of human that grew no larger than a three-year-old modern child. The tiny humans, who had skulls about the size of grapefruits, lived with pygmy elephants and Komodo dragons on a remote island in Indonesia 18,000 years ago.
